Why I love this photo - Take a breath.
Just before the ceremony, at Lemore Manor, Hereford.
from Laura and Darren's wedding
In every photo that I take, I will always try to have a point of interest and not just a simple snapshot of a person or group of people. In the case of this image from just over a year ago, it was about ten minutes before the ceremony, and tensions were high.... all around.
At moments like this, it's almost as if time stands still, and ten minutes can seem like ten hours. Of course it's like this for the bride and groom, but sometimes even more so for the bridesmaids or groomsmen, who have a great responsibility to make sure everything runs smoothly, and to support the bride and groom, who they love dearly, at all times.
I love this photo because of the bridesmaids' expression, as she takes a deep breath, clearly showing how much she cares about the situation and what is about to happen. It's expressions like this one that really gives you a feel for the image, almost as if you were there and perhaps in her shoes.
> Slight symmetry between the two ladies, as they each face opposite directions.
> The inverted heart in the foreground which also adds a touch of symmetry with the other heart in the background.
> The light coming from the window on the right side of the bridesmaid's face. If I had used flash (which I don't) it would be a different story I think.
Hope you love this image as much as I do.
